VR Experience Review

There are a lot of movies and games around the International Space Station. While many of us dream of becoming astronauts, only about 500 people have ever been to space. Thanks to Mission: ISS and Oculus Go, anyone, anywhere, can experience the breathtaking view of Earth from orbit.

What is the experience

In Mission: ISS, you are an astronaut on the International Space Station. You can use your virtual hands to dock a space capsule, take a spacewalk, and let real NASA astronauts guide you on the ISS through informative videos and images. Click me to take a look at this impressively detailed view of life in zero gravity.

What did I like

The details and the graphics are delicate and fully interactive. The balance between action and interactivity is fascinating. Users can move around by pushing themselves from the walls of holding on to handrails. Moreover, combining great gameplay with educational content is not easy. Mission: ISS has pulled it off. It is one of my favorite educational experiences on the Oculus Go so far.

What can be improved

The two things I think can be improved are the length of experience and the font of informative content. There are only three short missions, and I would like a longer experience. Anyway, given that it is entirely free, I cannot be really demanding. Also, the font used on the screen is appropriate for the theme of space travel and looks bold and cool. But it made my head a bit dizzy when used in longer paragraphs as reading instructions about how the ISS works.
