Samsara
Samsara is an immersive light sculpture that explores Phenology, the study of natural phenomena that recur periodically in plants and animals and how they relate to seasonal changes and climate. The word Phenology is derived from the Greek φαίνω, 'to show, to bring to light, make to appear' + λόγος, amongst others 'study, discourse, reasoning.' The work seeks to symbolically portray a harmonious landscape where the laws of nature and the rhythmic ingenuity of human intelligence blend. At its core, Samsara serves as a metaphor for the repetitive patterns embedded in the human life cycle throughout history.
The piece offers the public a captivating spatial experience by seamlessly combining components, including the ever-changing angles of solar ecliptic, the ethereal beauty of fiber optic textiles, and state-of-the-art projection technologies. As the mesmerizing light and shadow intertwine, the artwork beckons each recipient to contemplate humans' intricate role in the vast tapestry of cosmological time. Through the interplay of luminous lines, the work aims to strike a deep chord within viewers, inviting visitors to uncover the profound connections between the chapter of humanity's existence and the expansive scroll of the universe itself.
